Maine State Building Window Repair & Restoration Project
$20.00
Description
The window frames and sashes in the Maine State Building are the original wood wood windows with single pane glass. Most of the windows are in good condition, but repairs are necessary. On one window, the wood parting bead is missing, and the lower sash was falling from the frame. The extended depth windowsills at the turret locations are deteriorated and need attention.
It is recommended to repair deteriorated sills and replace damaged parting beads. Some of the large wood sills need more extensive work. The parting jamb strips need to be replaced on one window where the bottom sash is pushing out.
To preserve this landmark for future generations, we need your help to fund a critical project: Repairing and Restoring the windows at the Maine State Building.
Your support will help us ensure the Maine State Building continues to stand as a testament to Maine’s rich history and craftsmanship. We are incredibly grateful for people like you, who support our mission to preserve, protect and maintain the Maine State Building and All Souls Chapel.
If you are donating in memory or in honor of someone, please include a note in the order page. We would be honored to recognize your tribute as part of our ongoing preservation efforts.
