Cemetery
There
are two cemeteries on the property. One, the Robbins Cemetery, is not a
contributing object in the historic district although it certainly
continues to signify the importance of the innkeeping tradition on the
property as it is the final resting place for several members of the
current owners of Poland Spring Resort.
The
larger and more visible cemetery is the original Ricker burial grounds.
Jabez Ricker, the original owner of the property, his three children
and descendants of Wentworth Ricker, the first innkeeper, are buried in
the cemetery. This is owned by the Wentworth Ricker Cemetery
Association.
A
listing of the interred individuals is listed at the website
findagrave.com. As the information on their site is user driven content,
there may be mistakes or inconsistencies. It is only noted here for
your information only.

Generally
the cemetery was reserved only for Ricker descendants as it is now;
however, there are several individuals including Confederate veteran
Robert Cheever, who are buried in the cemetery but have no direct
relation to the Ricker family.
