Poland Spring Museums
Welcome to Historic Poland Spring!
Poland Spring has been a destination since 1794 when George Washington was president. Our historical roots extend throughout the 19th century when a great deal of modern twists were added to the property including a golf course, a building that had been moved from Chicago, and of course the bottling of Poland Spring Water.
The Maine State Building was originally built in 1893 for the Chicago Worlds Fair also known as the Colombian Exposition. The Fair was to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Christopher Columbus. All 44 states, dozens of countries, and even companies sent buildings to the grounds to participate in the grand event. In total, there were almost 200 buildings on the grounds. Learn More
